We got a new place to play the world's game in downtown Grand Rapids. Las Canchas de Futbol Communitarias (The Community Futsal Courts), built by Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI) are designed for futsal and street soccer. The DDA board approved in July the spending of $337,000 to build the courts, which are temporary and expected to remain in place for at least two years. The courts are open to the public free of charge, and are where we are hosting our leagues, tournaments and other activities such as watch parties.
